Genus: Platythelys
Platythelys is a genus of primarily terrestrial orchids distributed in the tropical regions of the New World, usually in damp habitats, such as swampy forests or riverbanks. The creeping rhizome gives rise to an erect stem with slender leaves that are often marked with pale spots or veins. The inflorescence is a terminal raceme with few to many small, resupinate flowers. The concave labellum is fleshy and lobed with a spur at the base.
